WASTE RECYCLING AND TRANSFORMATION
GIVING LIFE SKILLS TO TEENAGE MOTHERS AND YOUTH
Our waste management strategy in Rwanda is to address the problem at the grassroots starting at the very origin of waste generation. is now recognized that we cannot afford to lose it as mere ‘waste’. Instead, it is important to view ‘waste’ as a valuable ‘resource’ that can be converted into a variety of useful products.
Teenage mothers face social economic hardship inclusive of stigma, family neglect, unemployment/lack of livelihood, illiteracy, among others and all these issues affect the wellbeing of both mother and the child.
Empowering Women, teen mother, youth and their families living in poverty will make developmental changes within the community and country at large.

OUR WORK
Women and girls are not just the faces of poverty – they are the key to overcoming it and GDO focuses in them as the greatest sources of untapped human potential in the Rwanda. When women are healthier, their children and families are healthier too. And when women have an income, they invest in their children and families, creating benefits for generations to come. But women's empowerment can only be achieved when we include men and boys, engaging with them so that they realize that the empowerment of their wives, sisters or mothers benefits the whole family.

Community awareness raising on environmental protection and management of natural resources
Our overarching objectives are to empower poor and vulnerable community, particularly women and girls, to take action on the climate crisis at all levels and to build knowledge for global change.
Clean water is just like AIR we all need to have clean water for better health
Climate change is having a huge impact on ecosystems and natural resources. Human practices are leading to massive deforestation, forest degradation, biodiversity loss and widespread natural resource depletion, destroying the natural buffer that once protected us from climate extremes.
HYGIENE AND NUTRITION PROGRAMS
GDO's hygiene and nutritional programs help keep children in school and concentrating in their studies through building their health and immunity to disease Improving the health of Caregivers means they are less reliant on the children for household task and farming thereby increasing school attendance.
